![]() Yes, I played Skyrim primarily as a stealth sniper, but I also invested a lot of points into Conjuration and Blacksmithing so that sometimes I could charge into battle with a pair of summoned Dremora Lords and a full set of Daedric Armor. Games have so much variety, and it kind of seems like a waste to choose not to experience what they offer, even if it makes things a bit more challenging. When playing these wildly unbalanced games, the question ultimately becomes: should we simply identify the most OP thing in the game and use it exclusively all the way to the end? Or are we inadvertently limiting our experience as a result? Just resist the urge to aim for vampires’ hearts - for some reason their crit is still their head. ![]() You would think vampires have heightened senses and would be able to hear your heartbeat from a few feet away, but apparently not. One of Redfall’s most efficient weapons is the stake launcher: a vampire-slaying machine that can one-shot standard vampires before they know you’re there. I’ve even had entire boss fights with a more challenging vampire, only to realize there’s a run-of-the-mill baddy walking around the area the whole time who somehow didn’t hear or see our battle.Īnd you can use these tactics against more than just cultists. On more than one occasion I’ve sniped three or four enemies, only to hear the last one ask, “Where are you hiding?” The answer is usually that I’m crouched in the middle of a well-lit street about 50 feet in front of them. In Redfall, however, they’re totally oblivious in situations where they really shouldn’t be. If you didn’t properly invest into stealth in Skyrim, it was quite easy for an enemy to hear you creeping around. Forget about using all those fancy powers-except Jacob’s Cloak and Raven powers since they go hand-in-hand with sneaking around. It's much more efficient to attack from stealth. ![]()
